Beginning at 5 p.m. today, North St. Louis businesses and non-profits that have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and are located in targeted geographic areas can apply for the North St. Louis Small Business and Non-Profit Grant Program.

On June 30, 2023, the Board of Aldermen passed legislation revising the North St. Louis Commercial Corridor Grant Program being implemented by St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC). Board Bill 37 amends Ordinance Number 71504, which created a $37 million grant program for small businesses and non-profits in North St. Louis. (May 5, 2023) – The Missouri Department of Economic Development has awarded a $2.5 million grant to the City of St. Louis, administered by the city’s Community Development Administration, that will support the redevelopment of a 106-acre industrial site adjacent to Lambert St. Louis International Airport. With the grant, the site, called the Brownleigh Site, can be redeveloped for future advanced manufacturing opportunities.

Last night, at the Urban League of Metropolitan Saint Louis’ 105th Annual Dinner, Mayor Tishaura O. Jones and SLDC President & CEO, presented the organization with a check to represent its allocation of $10 million of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) to the redevelopment and expansion of the Urban League’s Headquarters at the corner of Kingshighway Blvd. and Dr. MLK Drive.
